New data shows that high-end homebuyers splashed nearly $62m on the Geelong region’s most expensive residential properties in the financial year. The region’s ten most expensive homes sold during the 2022-2023 financial year reveal the appetite for luxury property in the region hasn’t waned.
The list, collated from Prop Track data, shows the top price for a home sold within the 12 months to the end of June was more than $8m.The top price was below the $10m record paid for a Fairhaven property in the 2021-22 financial year, while the total value of the ten most expensive properties to sell was about $4m lower.
The sales also reveal a mix of Geelong, Melbourne and interstate buyers happy to splash cash on high-end homes. During the financial year, interest rates climbed from 1.35 per cent in July 2022 to 4.1 per cent this month amid an overall drop in median home prices.
The team and I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
